Pinnacle Security Completes Successful Two-Week Philanthropic Campaign in Honduras
January 26th, 2011
Company Employees Volunteer Time and Money to Bring Support to Honduran Families
OREM, UT–(December 21, 2010) – Pinnacle Security, one of the nation's leading home security providers, today announced the successful completion of a two-week philanthropic tour as part of its "Pinnacle: Securing Hope" initiative. The tour involved 80 employees from Pinnacle's Canadian division who volunteered a total of $250,000 in time and supplies to build homes, create infrastructure and provide essential supplies for families in Honduras.
"When we presented our employees with the opportunity to participate in this kind of project, we were overwhelmed with volunteers," said Stuart Dean, Vice President of Communications, Pinnacle Security. "That response speaks to the kind of people we have at Pinnacle. We are proud to continue our 'Pinnacle: Securing Hope' program and anticipate many similar endeavors in the near future."
Teams of Pinnacle volunteers constructed four homes during the two week period. Additionally, volunteers purchased and delivered supplies to a number of homes in the village, installed solar panels and introduced electricity into eight homes. In some instances, the electricity installed was the first residents had ever seen.
"This was an extremely rewarding trip," said Graham Wood, Division Vice President of Sales, Pinnacle Security, Canada. "We were so pleased to be able to work with the community in such a meaningful way and are glad to be part of an organization that fosters and supports humanitarian opportunities."
The group plans to visit Africa next year to provide the same type of donations and services.
