"The one that DIDN'T get away!"

"Its so violating to have someone come into your home. You don't know what happened, what they did while they were in there. Did they mess with your food? Did they take something important? The worst part is not knowing if or when they'll come back."

Pearl Lewis is a wonderful woman. Active in her church and a college graduate, she is a mother of 7 kids and owns several rental properties. She loves her town, but has been the victim of multiple break ins. "Its so violating to have someone come into your home. You don't know what happened, what they did while they were in there. Did they mess with your food? Did they take something important? The worst part is not knowing if or when they'll come back."

Pearl installed padlocks on all her interior doors Her 15 year old daughter won't sleep in her own room. "She sleeps with me" Pearl confesses. "She's still scared." It got so bad that she purchased padlocks for each of her interior doors, thinking that if an intruder tried to get in through a window, they would be trapped in that room rather than have full access to the house.

They broke the window and forced open the door In 2011, Pearl received a call from a Pinnacle Security Representative. "My daughter had been pushing me for a while to purchase a security system. When Pinnacle called me, I jumped at the opportunity." Unfortunately Pearl was the victim of yet another intrusion, one that taught her a valuable lesson. As Pearl left that day she had forgotten to arm the system, they cleaned her out. "The took everything. She said. My TV, my DVR, a fax machine printer that I just barely bought, everything." She shook her head in frustration. "Worst part is, I knew I could have stopped it. I had a way to stop it, but I didn't even use it." Pearl would never again forget to arm her system. "I arm it when I'm at home during the day, when I leave, and when I go to bed. Basically, I arm it all the time. Its the only way to be sure."

The panel was pulled off the wall and they pulled it apart, trying to disable it
She was out of town when she got a call from the Pinnacle Security monitoring agent who told her that an intruder broke into the home. The intruder, who has since pled guilty to the crime, broke through the back door and and pulled the panel off the wall. Knowing the noise might attract attention, he attempting to not only silence it but disable it by smashing the panel and made sure the battery was disconnected. "Surely this will eliminate the system's ability to communicate" he must have thought. He was wrong.

Detective Sergeant Jeff Faraone The panel was equipped with an Alarm.com cellular card, one of the most advanced methods of security communication available to consumers today. When the door opened the cell unit immediately sent a signal to the monitoring station. The monitoring station awaited a "disarm" command, but when all communication from the panel stopped, an automatic "potential crash and smash" alert was triggered. Knowing this meant that there was not only someone inside, but someone who believed they were safe from detection, the call to police dispatch went quickly. Benton Harbor's finest arrived a few minutes later, covered all the exits, and stormed inside the house.

Officers of the Benton Harbor Township Police Department responded quickly
12 minutes after he disabled the panel, the individual was caught by the brave officers of Benton Harbor Township Police Department. "The intruder was found in Pearl's office, attempting to unhook the computer." says Detective Sergeant Jeff Faraone. "When he heard us he broke the office window in an attempt to escape but saw quickly that we had him covered." The only thing that left Pearl's house that day was a proud arresting officer and a man in handcuffs.

Pearl's door frames were broken, her office window shattered, but her possessions were all intact. She says she now sleeps easier at night too. "I arm my system all the time." she confesses with a smile. "It makes me feel really secure."

Testimonials

I am a pilot for a major airline. I'm also a single dad. I'm at home for about two weeks a month and traveling around the world for about two weeks out of every month. Tough schedule? Yes indeed. I have two young boys that are with me during the time that I'm at home. My security system is unbeatable when it comes to home security. My boys are safe, my house is safe, and I get some much needed rest without the concern of any threats to either. When I'm at work, nobody is at the house and my boys are at their moms. There is nobody to come and check on the house or take care of it unless it's an emergency of some sort. I have to rely on my system to alert me and my emergency contacts if anything has happened. Motion sensors, window sensors, and even a freeze sensor in the event my boiler quits. I even have sensors on my outer storage buildings. I just need to figure out how to control the lights and thermostats and maybe feed a dog and I'm set. All of this reassurance, accessed and controlled by my iPhone, from thousands and thousands of miles away. All I can say at this point is that I really don't know how I could manage without it. Btw. I'm in Sydney Australia right now. Just checked to see if everything is fine at the house. It took about 12 seconds. I'll sleep well.

When I signed up with Pinnacle, my husband was stationed overseas fighting, while I had a 1 yr old and was pregnant. It brought both me and my husband peace of mind knowing we were protected at the house and the kids and I were safe.

A few months ago, while I was trying to do too many things at once, we almost had a kitchen fire. Our security system's heat/smoke detector alerted me to the problem in the kitchen and within seconds, yes literally seconds, the pinnacle monitoring centre was on the phone to make sure everything was okay in our home. There is a great sense of relief and peace of mind, knowing how quickly help would have arrived at our home if we had not been able to avert the emergency situation. We are very happy to know pinnacle security is helping to look after our home for us all the time. Thank you!
