The sensor can detect body heat emitted from a human body as it passes through the room. If the sensor detects the body heat of a human, the alarm will sound and local law enforcement will respond immediately.

Pet owners especially like these motions sensors because of their ability to discriminate the heat radiation from an animal and a human body. Pets (under 40lbs) can walk freely throughout the home without triggering the system and causing a false alarm.
