Door Alarms
There are a variety of door alarms on the market, and Pinnacle Security.s professional staff can help you choose the right style for your needs. While door alarms make up only one aspect of a total home security system, they are often the first item considered. This is because our doors are the most obvious entrance to each house. It is through our doors that we welcome guests into our homes. Unfortunately, they also pose a point of entry for intruders.
The basic concept behind door alarms is to create an electrical circuit. In some cases, the circuit is closed when the door is closed. This allows electricity to flow back and forth between the two contact points. When the door is opened, the circuit is broken and the alarm sounds. In other cases, the opening of the door actually closes the circuit, sounding the alarm.
Door alarms can work as simple security devices on their own if they have a speaker built right into the mechanism. More commonly, however, a door alarm will be a component of an entire security system. When the circuit is tripped, a signal is sent back to the control pad. This causes the system to sound an alarm and to automatically call the monitoring station.
