Pinnacle Security’s Securing Hope Initiative Kicks-Off Fundraising Effort to Build New Hospital in Kenya

Holds Drive for Security Consultant, Customer Contributions

OREM, UT – August 8, 2011 – Pinnacle Security, a leader in the North American residential security market, today announced it has held the initial fundraising activity for its partnership with Going Beyond Borders, an NGO committed to providing relief to individuals and families in Kenya. Pinnacle Security dedicated Aug. 5-6 to the effort, inviting customers to make donations and allowing Pinnacle’s security consultants to contribute commissions to benefit the organization.

Pinnacle’s partnership with Going Beyond Borders is a significant part of the Pinnacle Security: Securing Hope philanthropic initiative. The first objective of the partnership is to build a new hospital in Kakamega, Kenya.

Going Beyond Borders, in partnership with Pinnacle Security as well as other organizations, has committed to raise $200,000 to fund the hospital. Once the financing goal is met, Pinnacle teams will accompany Going Beyond Borders to participate in the actual construction of the facility.

In order to illustrate the need for the new hospital and encourage donations, Pinnacle has produced the following video:

“Going Beyond Borders has all the right elements in place to effect a substantive improvement in the lives of people in western Kenya,” said Stuart Dean, Vice President, Corporate Communications, Pinnacle Security. “With the closest medical facility several hours away, this hospital will serve 4,000 people that currently have no other access to any health care. We are pleased for the opportunity to help.”

Going Beyond Borders board member Ruth Oniang’o, a former councilwoman in Kenya, has donated the land needed for the hospital.

“I know first-hand the tremendous need this hospital will serve. I have personally experienced the transport of individuals whose relatively minor injuries became life threatening due to the distance that had to be travelled to see a doctor,” said Oniang’o. “I am pleased to help oversee the fundraising and am excited to see it come to fruition.”

Additional fundraising activities will include a 5K run, held by Pinnacle Security November 12. To keep apprised of events and ways you can participate in the building of the hospital, please visit Pinnacle Security on youtube and the company’s website at www.pinnaclesecurity/charity.php.

Pinnacle Security Securing Hope Initiative Furthers Mission in Local Community

Company Sends Volunteer Team to the Food & Care Coalition

OREM, UT-(Marketwire - Jul 6, 2011) - Pinnacle Security, a leader in the residential security industry, announced the successful completion of another service project from its Securing Hope philanthropic initiative that identifies and supports volunteerism opportunities for its employees across the country and around the world. Pinnacle provided a staff of volunteers from its corporate offices, who volunteered their time to serve lunch to community members in need in the company’s home community.

“The mission of the Securing Hope initiative is parallel to our company mission to provide security and peace of mind for our customers,” said Stuart Dean, Vice President of Corporate Communications. “It’s a natural extension of what we do at Pinnacle Security, helping our customers protect the things that matter most.”
Pinnacle’s volunteer staff prepared and served lunch at the Food & Care Coalition, a local organization dedicated to assisting those in need through the provision of meals, clothing, financial and health services among others. Pinnacle participated in a brief training session and then prepared and served the meal to the patrons of the Food & Care Coalition.

“At Food & Care Coalition, our mission to alleviate hunger and diminish poverty depends upon the commitment and charitable acts of individuals and organizations, like that received from Pinnacle Security,” said Brent Crane, Executive Director of Food & Care Coalition, LLC. “Pinnacle’s volunteers didn’t just provide a meal; they brought a measure of charity and a message of hope for each patron.”

“There are so many individuals and families that just need a little help right now, it was wonderful to spend the day serving them,” said Scott Johnson, Facilities Manager, Pinnacle Security. “This was a great opportunity to work in our own community and offer a little bit of help to those in need.”

Pinnacle’s Securing Hope initiative has been the vehicle for projects including sponsorship for Sustain Haiti, a local NGO dedicated to the rebuild efforts in Port-au-Prince and surrounding areas, building homes and installing electricity in homes in Honduras, working with clean-up crews following the tornadoes in St. Louis and many other similar projects in the communities where Pinnacle operates.

Pinnacle Security Partners With Make-A-Wish Foundation to Grant Young Kansas Girl’s Wish

Pinnacle Employees Come Together to Help Makenna Scott Meet the Princesses at Disney World

OREM, UT-(Marketwire - Jun 6, 2011) - Pinnacle Security, a leader in the North American residential security market, today announced that its Securing Hope initiative, working with the Make-A-Wish® Foundation of Kansas, has granted the wish of a young girl to meet Disney’s Princesses at the Florida theme parks in the coming months.

“We are so pleased to be able to work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Kansas to make this child’s wish a reality,” said Stuart Dean, Vice President of Corporate Communications for Pinnacle Security. “Make-A-Wish is a wonderful organization with such a meaningful mission, it is a great match for our Securing Hope program to be able to grant a child’s wish and throw a party to celebrate.”

The Make-A-Wish Foundation’s Adopt-A-Wish program partners with corporations and organizations to grant wishes to the many children it serves. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Kansas was chartered in 1984 and in the past 27 years has been able to grant over 1,090 wishes for children in Kansas.

“We are happy to partner with Pinnacle Security to grant Makenna’s wish,” said Ashley Scheideman, CEO of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Kansas. “Through the Adopt-A-Wish Program community-minded corporations, such as Pinnacle Security, are able to have an immediate and uplifting impact on the life of a child with a life-threatening medical condition.”

Pinnacle’s Securing Hope initiative enables the company and its employees to dedicate funds, time and resources to various causes in the U.S. and elsewhere. In this instance, the impetus came from McKay Selph, one of Pinnacle Security’s regional managers, who was moved to action when he heard Makenna’s story.

“Working within our community is very important to us and goes hand-in-hand with helping people protect their homes and families. It’s what we do,” said Selph. “But to be able to see the light in Makenna’s eyes when she found out her wish would come true… that was indescribable.”

Once Selph became involved with Make-A-Wish, 25 of Pinnacle’s West Kansas office security consultants, and their spouses, stepped in to help make the wish come true.

Selph continued, “I can’t imagine how difficult it would be for that family and we all wanted to do everything possible to help. The fact that Pinnacle has created a program to support this kind of initiative from employees and stepped up to sponsor the celebration party shows how seriously we feel about the communities we serve.”

At the Wish Celebration party, supporters from Pinnacle had the opportunity to meet the Scott family and present them with a check for $5,000. The event was held at the local public library in Dodge City, Kansas on the 26th of May.
