Pinnacle Security Reaches Settlement With New York Attorney General’s Office

Security Company Continues Implementation of Industry-Leading Compliance Initiatives

OREM, UT-(Marketwire - August 12, 2010) - Pinnacle Security, a leader in the North American residential security market, agreed to a settlement with the New York Attorney General’s office to address circumstances in New York state that pre-date sweeping compliance initiatives implemented by Pinnacle Security throughout the past year.
“The conclusions from the attorney general’s office are not reflective of our business today as our representatives are now bound by the industry’s strongest compliance protocols,” said Kelly Walker, CEO, Pinnacle Security. “Tactics practiced by a few sales representatives were never sanctioned, encouraged or allowed by Pinnacle. It is an ongoing industry challenge to eradicate these tactics but our data indicates that we have made significant progress toward eliminating these practices and individuals from our business.”

Pinnacle Security has invested heavily in personnel, systems and training over the past 18 months in building a compliance process that includes a quality assurance call to each new customer to verify and confirm contract terms, validate obligation amounts and verify the absence of an existing contract with another home security firm. The compliance systems also allow for anonymous reporting of problem behavior by team members.

“There were situations historically that prompted a comprehensive restructuring of our compliance protocols,” said Lance Lehnhof, General Counsel, Pinnacle Security. “It is unfortunate that the actions of a few have so negatively affected the perception of our industry and our company but our compliance protocols are working and we are encouraged by current data and look forward to supporting our strong and growing base of satisfied customers.”

Law enforcement officials and home owner’s insurance providers recommend individuals purchase and keep an active security system as such systems are a strong deterrent to potential burglars in addition to a way of contacting emergency personnel in the event of a fire, flood or medical situation. In recent years, Pinnacle has provided more than 275,000 home-owners with quality security solutions that address these security needs at competitive prices in the U.S. and Canada.

Pinnacle Security Systems Proven to Deter Crime

Burglary String Thwarted Because of Advanced System; Customer Case Studies Highlight Benefits of Pinnacle Home Security Systems

OREM, UT-(Marketwire - July 23, 2010) - Pinnacle Security, a leader in the North American residential security market, today released two case studies highlighting the proven personal and protective benefits of its home monitoring systems. The studies credit Pinnacle with ending a string of burglaries and highlight their quick call response time.

With nearly 20,000 fires and more than 2 million burglaries occurring nationwide each year, Pinnacle Security customers have shared experiences where their homes were protected by the company’s security solution. The experiences, which have been compiled into case studies, also emphasize the multiple benefits of installing a security system, including reduced home insurance rates as well as increased protection.

“These case studies show the peace of mind a security system can provide,” said Kelly Walker, CEO, Pinnacle Security. “It is gratifying to provide a product that truly makes a difference in our customers’ lives. Knowing their family, home and valuables are safe is very comforting for our customers. Pinnacle Security’s mission is to protect the things that matter most.”

Serving customers across the country, Pinnacle’s advanced equipment and monitoring services were credited in one of the case studies with ending a string of burglaries in a Seattle-area home. The homeowner, Kayla Young reported her home had been burglarized repeatedly before having her Pinnacle security system installed which ultimately deterred the criminals. Young said, “Because we had the Pinnacle security system, our house did not get burglarized. The alarm went off and they left. Nothing can replace your children and your family feeling safe and having peace of mind.”

In another case study, a police officer from Indiana expressed his satisfaction with Pinnacle’s responsiveness and the safety he felt for his wife because of it. The officer, Dale Hensley, received a call from Pinnacle only 30 seconds after accidentally setting off his own system and knew his family would receive the help they needed quickly if a situation arose. “It gives me the peace of mind that the guys at work are going to be at my house very quickly to ensure everything is safe,” said Hensley. “Most importantly, I know when my wife is home alone she is protected, and if something happens, help will be on the way immediately.”

The case studies, including more personal stories, videos and other materials can be accessed on Pinnacle Security’s website at www.pinnaclesecurity.com.
